For each slatted fence we supply
Enough hardwood fence posts in length of 3.00 m1 (to be placed approx. 1 m1 apart). Enough hardwood fence planks (Lamell size 2.1 x 14.0 cm). Enough black screws + black mounting clips to mount the modern wooden slats.

1-side wood means that the slats are mounted on 1 side of the posts. With a 2-side fence both sides are covered with wooden slats. Both for a 1-side and a 2-side wooden fence we deliver enough posts, screws + wooden slats to make your project. However, we always recommend ordering a little more wood, as this compensates for sawing losses. 

Don't forget to oil? Per 2.7 litre you can completely oil 10 m1 single sided wooden fence. Repeat this 2x per year. This keeps the fence in the original wood colour, and the wood does not absorb any dirt. You also extend the life span. If you do not oil the fence, it will gradually turn mouse-grey after about 6 months. Once the wood has turned grey, it cannot be restored to its original colour.

All boards have a tongue and groove on the long side. This makes it easy to stack the planks on top of each other, thus creating a fully closed fence. Because of the special triple profile, it looks like there are multiple beams mounted. In reality it is a plank of 14.0 cm wide in which 3 beams have been milled. This makes the fence completely closed and no one can see through it.

Out of all the variants of the modern fence that we offer, this is the easiest fence to build.

Almost invisible screws
Through the use of tongue and groove, the planks are screwed together. 2 small screws per plank and support to secure. The screw is almost invisible. Longitudinal grooves (the click system) have been made in each 2.1 x 14.0 cm slat so that the planks can easily be slid one above the other. Fast and easy installation is therefore guaranteed.

Order
You can order per meter length (m1) of fence. For example, for an 8 m1 long fence you click on the + until the number 8 is reached. You can choose for a single or double sided modern fence. This fence is completely closed, so no view through. At the back the planks are flat, so also at the back it gives a nice modern result. We deliver enough boards, poles and screws to make the modern fence.

For a fence of 2.05 m1 high, there are 16 Ipe planks of 2.5 x 14.0 on top of each other.
For a fence of 1.80 m1 high, 14 IPE planks are stacked on top of each other.

An optical defect can occur in a natural product. Wood lives, and no two planks are the same, which is precisely the charm of all wood products. Sometimes an unassembled board can be slightly warped by the effects of sun and water, and not everyone is equally skilful at assembling it straight. Usually there is some sawing loss. We therefore recommend always ordering an extra 1 metre of fence, to avoid back orders and extra costs. 

Always store the wood that you have not yet processed, covered and bound together, in a dry place. Also during assembly, never place unassembled wood in the sun. Ipe wood is very stable wood, durable and strong. All our hardwood products have a long service life. Ipe wood has a service life of at least 20 years or more.

We always supply tripple slats in long lengths.
We supply at least 1 or more wood lengths, most common lengths are 2.50m1 or longer. The long sides of the planks are equipped with a tongue and groove. The ends of the planks do not have to end up on a stand. The length that is delivered depends on the available stock. With these lengths, the uprights are placed every 1.00 m1 from each other. The installation in random order gives the most beautiful and stable end result. The uprights are completely covered by the horizontal Ipe planks. Always install from bottom to top. Do not forget to check each row of slats with a spirit level. You can correct the slope by not fully clicking the boards into the others.

Assembling the modern fence
Start with the uprights (the fence posts) in line. The uprights are completely covered by the horizontal tripple profile. Always assemble from bottom to top. Do not forget to check each row of slats with a spirit level. You can correct the slope by not fully clicking one board into the other.

Depending on the available stock, we deliver one or more lengths. All planks are always equipped with a tongue and groove on the long side of the planks, which makes it easy to click the planks together. As a result, the end of the plank does not have to end up exactly on a stand. This means that each tripple plank is firmly clamped in place and that the effect is minimal. 

There are always leftover parts during assembly, the sawn-off parts. These should be reused. We supply enough wood to make the metres ordered. The most beautiful and sturdiest result is wild-cornered assembly, as shown in the photos, and our timber delivery is based on this. When your project is finished, simply sand the beams lightly for an even more beautiful result. Don't forget to oil them. 

Placing the posts
We supply a 6.0 x 6.0 cm post/stand. A fence post must be dug into the ground about 1/3 of its length. After installation, simply saw off a piece of the post at the top. Pre-drilling is not necessary when mounting the boards. We supply self-drilling screws free of charge, these have enough strength to keep the wood firmly in place. The standard distance between the posts is 1.00 m1. We supply enough posts and boards to make your fence.

We recommend setting the top of the post a few cm higher than the desired height of your fence. After installing the slats, saw off the top of the post to ensure that you can screw the highest slat properly too.

You can choose to reinforce the posts with concrete in the ground. We recommend doing this only if there is a lot of wind. Usually, posts are buried by digging a hole, placing the post and filling the hole with sand. Then it is important to let the loosened sand settle by spraying water on it. This will compact the sand bed and make the post more stable in the ground. You can also use an auger to place the post in the ground; with this method too, it is wise to spray the sand well with water afterwards.
