We supply for each slat bar fence
Enough hardwood fence posts in length of 3.00 m1. Enough hardwood lamellae in the size 4.0 x 4.0 cm. Enough screws + poles + privacy screen, to mount the modern fence.

1-side wood means that the lamellae are mounted on 1 side of the posts. With a 2-side fence both sides are covered with wooden slats. Both for a 1-side and a 2-side wooden fence we deliver enough posts, screws + wooden slats to make your project.

Don't forget to oil? Per 2.7 litre you can completely oil 10 m1 single sided wooden fence. Repeat this 2x per year. This keeps the fence in the original wood colour, and the wood does not absorb any dirt. You also extend the life span. If you do not oil the fence, it will gradually turn mouse-grey after about 6 months. Once the wood has turned grey, it cannot be restored to its original colour.

Posts or pillars for this modern lamellae fence
The fence is standard delivered by us with 6.0 x 6.0 - 3.00 m1 posts/stands + clips, screws and enough wooden slats. Specify the number of meters. 

Visible Screwing
The fence is screwed visibly. Countersink the screws deep into the beams, so the result is almost screwless. You have to saw the hardwood beams to length yourself, because each modern beam fence is custom-made. When your project is finished, simply sand the beams lightly for an even more beautiful result. Do not forget to oil? Per 2,3 litre you can completely oil 10 m1 single sided fence.

Order
You can order per meter length (m1) of fence. For example, for an 8 m1 long fence, click on the + until the number 8 is reached. You can choose for a single or double sided lamellae (beams) fence. We assume that you leave 2 cm space between the beams, our wood delivery is based on this. We supply enough slats (beams), posts, privacy screen and screws to make the modern beam fence.

An optical defect may occur in a natural product. Wood lives, and no two boards are the same, which is precisely the charm of all wood products. Sometimes an unassembled board can be slightly warped by the effects of sun and water, and not everyone is equally skilful at assembling it straight. Usually there is some sawing loss. We therefore recommend always ordering an extra 1 metre of fence, to avoid a back order and extra costs.

Always store the wood that you have not yet processed, covered and bound together, in a dry place. Also during assembly, never place unassembled wood in the sun. Ipe wood is very stable wood, durable and strong. All our hardwood products have a long service life. Ipe wood has a service life of at least 20 years or more.

Laminated beams
We supply at least 1 or more lengths, most common lengths are 1.60 m1. The length that is delivered depends on the available stock. With these lengths, the uprights are always placed every 80 cm apart. Placing them in random order gives the best end result. The uprights are completely covered by the horizontal slats. Always install from bottom to top. Don't forget to check each row of slats with a spirit level. The spacing is 2 cm.

Mounting the modern fence 
First measure the length of the slats. The end of each slat must be positioned at the centre of the post. The length of the received slats determines where the closing post(s) will be placed.

Spread the remaining posts evenly between the placed posts, with a maximum distance between them of approx. 1 m1. Fix the 1st bottom row of beams/lambs to the posts, from left to right, the 2nd row you put the other way around, from right to left. Repeat this process until you are finished. There is one screw per beam in a post. The rest pieces, the sawn off parts are reused, that's why the wood delivery is based on this. 

Depending on the available stock, we deliver one or more lengths. The beams are made of Ipe hardwood, and are planed with rounded corners. The end of the beam has to end in the middle of the upright. Pre-drilling is not necessary, the screws supplied have a drilling point. Pre-drilling is only advisable at the end of each beam, as this prevents the beams from tearing.

For example, you order 6 m1 fence. We deliver for example slats of 3.30 m1. Start by placing the first post. Then place a lamella on the ground and determine where the closing post should be placed. In this example, this post will be placed at a distance of 3.30 m1 . Place the second Safety Post and again place a batten on the ground and determine the distance based on the length of the batten. This third post will be at 6.00 and not at 6.60 (after all, in this example the fence is 6 m1 long and not 6.60 m1). Place post no. 4 at 60 cm distance from post no. 1. Also place a post 60 cm from the end post. 

Installing the posts
We supply a post/stand of 6.0 x 6.0 cm 3.00 m1 length. A fence post must be dug into the ground about 1/3 of its length. After installation, simply saw off a piece of the post at the top. The standard post distance is approx. 80 cm. Based on the length of the supplied beams, you can divide the posts evenly so that the ends end up on a post. We supply enough posts to make your fence.

We recommend setting the top of the post a few cm higher than the desired height of your fence. After installing the slats, saw off the top of the post to ensure that you can screw the highest slat properly too.

You can choose to reinforce the posts with concrete in the ground. We recommend doing this only if there is a lot of wind. Usually, posts are buried by digging a hole, placing the post and filling the hole with sand. Then it is important to let the loosened sand settle by spraying water on it. This will compact the sand bed and make the post more stable in the ground. You can also use an auger to place the post in the ground; with this method too, it is wise to spray the sand well with water afterwards.
